Harucake

Harucake in Korea Town Los Angeles.

harucake, Los Angeles, known, dessert

If you're ever in LA's Korea Town, you gotta check out Harucake - it's a cute cafe with yummy cakes and drinks. I had a hard time finding a moment to swing by because I only have Mondays off and they close on Mondays. But when I finally got another day free, I made sure to stop by. I told myself not to get my hopes up too high to prevent any letdowns about the place, but when I got to Korea Town and saw the "OPEN!" sign on the door, I couldn't help but get cheerful before even tasting the cakes and drinks.

So, they are known for their awesome cakes and cool drinks. They've been around since 2019, focusing on making those low milk cream cakes. Their cakes are all about that creamy, milky taste without being too sugary. Some might think it's a bit subtle, but I gotta say, I really liked it!

Cakes

You can order cakes by the slice, but sometimes they run out. And you can order whole cakes there as well or online (at least a week before). And some cakes are seasonal (they don't have all the time). When ordering online, you can order special designed cakes (HARU DESIGNS) which are super cute. They also have bento cakes, which are smaller sized cakes.

Drinks

They've got a few coffee drinks, but the real star is the SooSoo Latte with its yummy buttery corn flavor. And you have to see the corn-shaped ice cube on top? It's so cute and check out how it melts slowly. Plus, they've got a bunch of awesome matcha drinks like banana matcha, strawberry matcha, and classic matcha latte. Oh, and you've gotta try the strawberry milk—it tastes just like the one you make at home!

Scones

So, I really love scones and love making them at home. But, let me tell you, when I tried their scones, they were seriously amazing. You could totally taste the high-quality ingredients they used, especially that top-notch butter that makes all the difference. Their scone menu is pretty awesome, with options like butter biscuit scones with strawberry jam, walnut chocolate scones, and scones with milk cream and strawberries, lemon earl, and Mont Blanc chestnut cream. And oh, don't even get me started on their egg tarts - the corn egg tart, choco egg tart, and regular egg tart are all so delicious!

Interior

The vibe in the store is super cozy and charming with that shabby chic feel. Right at the front, you'll spot a cute little photo spot and some guest sign-in books. They've got a shelf showing off their branded stuff like pins, tote bags, hats, and other cool items. And don't miss the checkout where you can grab cute trinkets like magnets and adorable candles. The seating area is small with just a few tables and chairs, but it really adds to the place's charm.

Meet their mascot OO-U, it's this super cute fluffy teddy bear that looks like a cloud. I don't know how to pronounce its name, but one thing's for sure - it's adorable! And their logo is just as cute. If you ever find yourself around Korea Town in LA, you should definitely drop by and let me know how it goes!
